Lenny was an artist/activist in Ventura,California, who championed for equal resources for The Avenue district. He created a community garden in the vacant lot next to a senior center near Main Street, and a number of people were very upset to see it torn up and fenced off.
When the Main Street Library was closed for remodel, they moved the computers to the Avenue. Lenny was nstrumental in keeping some there after Main Street was reopened. “You can’t give a community a resource and then take it away,” he was known to have said.
Lenny had a passion for Mexico, it’s men and its culture. He was a landscaper who specialized in hardscapes and native plants and he pupilshed a street Zine “Talks Cheap.” Lastly, Lenny was a sculptor of wood, of which one of his creations is featured here in honor of his lifetime achievements.
